Map of Alpha and Omega gates

Alpha

Hazard Level: Low

Alpha gate is slightly larger than the Omega gate. The reasons for gate sizes remains a mystery to this day. Within the boundaries of the gate is a vast forest. Where the gate touches the ocean it becomes suddenly land and the waves of the ocean seem almost to shy away from lapping onto the alien shore. Within the forest are a great number of fantastic flora and fauna. Efforts have been made to study and document species, but the list seems nearly endless. Very few aggressive species have been observed, making this an ideal gate for study and procurement.

Omega

Hazard Level: High

Sometimes called the Crystal Gate nearly everything within the Omega gate is made of crystal-like substances. Here the land roughly follows the boundaries of the land that was once there. Study of the ocean edges has been attempted, but has been classified as too dangerous to continue at this time. Creatures encountered in this gate are hostile to Espers and have been known to pursue even past the bounds of the gate. Ultimately turning back, or expiring (much like how humans do within gates).

Alpha-Omega dead zone

Hazard Level: Extreme

The area where Gate Alpha and Omega overlap.  No data has been recovered from this area.  All teams are reminded that they are not to approach or enter this area.

Thuban

Hazard Level: Medium

Gate Thuban is an amalgam zone.  The area is now a patchwork of verdant rolling hills and the original desert.  The edges where the two environments meet are clearly defined and often sites of unusual activity.  Plant life remains terrestrial in the desert areas while the grasslands often have remarkable trees and flowers.  Grasses seem terrestrial.  Some low threat fauna has been observed.  No local time shifts have been observed.  Spatial distortions have been observed on environmental edges.
